I haven't seen an episode since the first series. I think I was 10. But I imagine, if I were 10 now, this show would seem about as cool. I'm not sure anything would top the ghost mansion episode for me but, the animation is really expressive and the pokemon all seem friendly and cool. The one that gave a peace sign and then waved was fun. I like how expressive the faces are and, I think kids would enjoy how active the camera is.

And Ash's first dub VA is very good, even Rica Matsumoto on two occasions complimented it, one in an Interview in 2006 saying "It's like if my Satoshi spoke English" & later hearing the dub called it "cute."

Lucario's movie was "accurate" because they knew their work on the show was coming to and end, so they had nothing to gain by changing everything for once. Eight solid years of doing shit like butchering Mewtwo's character and using extra animation to ruin any of the mystery and ambiguity from the Celebi movie isn't made better because they did one "decent" job when it didn't matter anymore
