Caught him at the trainer school and named him after a cat that was a childhood pet but passed away a few years ago. I thought I'd eventually fill his spot with something else, but technician powered fake out kept wrecking everything. He didn't even start lagging behind the rest of my team until the E4, and even then he still outsped literally everything and everyone. I wouldn't have beat Kukui's decidueye without him.

My endgame team was basically nothing but a ton of other surprise bros listed in this thread, but gray garfielf was the most unexpected for me.

Not the strongest or neccesarily the tankiest, and most all of my other pokemon outrank him in power and defense, but he does have awesome speed and virtually every clutch battle has been won because of this guy. Fake out has finished so many battles, and with technician, it does some real good free damage. That's why smugcat gets my MVP award.

Persian's best moment definitely goes to his victory during the Mimmikyu Totem battle. The whole rest of my team had fallen to Haunter/Gengar sleep bullshit and some nasty Play Rough shenaniganry from Mimmikyu. But Persian out sped and killed both of them just in time to seal the win. Wasn't even planning on having him on my team but I suppose things happen for a reason

I grabbed Abra and Pichu in the early game and decided I'd focus on trying to level them. Fucking mistake. Pichu dies constantly from lack of defensive stats and shitty health, Abra doesn't even get Confusion when it evolves anymore so and you have to wait until its level 21 before it learns an attack. Both of them got destroyed by Pursuit attacks for the entire beginning of the game.

Tsareena's my best gal. Most surprisingly good stats out of this gen. Usually when I like a design so much, its stats are shit. This one's actually good. Love her to death.

this guy is actually much better than i thought he'd be. at first i thought his ability was garbage, but his bulk, attack, and movepool make good use of it.

his attack first impression is a +2 priority bug move with 90 attack that gets a STAB bonus and is going off his 125 base attack. you can give him a silver power for an additional 20% damage.

the catch is that the attack can only be used once, but that's where his ability comes in. knock his HP down to less than 50% and he automatically comes back. which sets him up for another revenge kill.

thanks to his bulk, ability, and leech life, you can easily get 2 or 3 revenge kills off with him, making him a pretty damn good revenge killer.

he also learns sucker punch and can even be bred with a STAB-boosted aqua jet which gives him other priority moves he can use too.
