Summoning occurs when the opponent has 50% or less HP and will increase the less HP that it has.
There is a chance that a pokemon that is summoned will be a different 'mon, Bonsly summons Happiny, and other pokemon such as carbink will summon Sableye. The summoning list is on serebii for each route.
