I'm not sure about that.
Maybe the games and show omit injuries and how happy the Pokémon really are from battling.
I can't imagine it'd be really convenient wither unless battle parks were opened, the environment around us would get damaged.
Also, I'm not sure how many I'd catch. I could only take care of four Pokémon if they are large dog sized.

All of Pokemon society is built around Pokemon and how easy they are to patch up. They run a little data through a computer and they are golden little super-powered death machines all over again.
