Post-game story is basically:
The Pokemon Police, including Looker, come to Alola due to the UBs Lusamine let loose. There are special people called Fallers; Fallers are people that have gone through an Ultra Wormhole because it seems that going through an Ultraworm hole changes your body and the exposition to Ultra Energy somehow attracts UBs to you. MC and Anabel, who the Pokemon Police found amnesiac and lost years ago, are Fallers and it's implied Lillie, Lusamine, Guzma and Mohn are also Fallers. They reveal that unlike you and the others that went to the UB world during the story, Anabel comes from a different dimension but they won't tell her. They're using Anabel as bait to capture or defeat the UBs and decide to hire you to help them, Nanu is opposed to the idea and he tells you the backstory with Guzzlord and his partner/waifu. You decide to do it anyway and they give you the Beast Balls to capture the UBs.

Basically adding fuel to the alternative dimension stuff introduced by Delta Episode.
