What's the most overrated generation?

Gen 3. It's pretty good, but not the end all be all of Pokemon games.

Not the best, but it was the 4th release on the DS and pirating on the DS makes compared the 3ds is way fucking easier

On this board: Almost definitely 2 and 4. D/P/P was okay, and HG/SS did not fix any of the problems of GSC, and simply copy-pasted Platinum's shit Battle Facility.

GSC aren't bad in of themselves, but they are worshipped as the greatest on this board. They weren't.

Gen 1 and 6 in general. Most people outside of /vp/ rave about 6.
Probably 2 here. I started with 2 and I have good memories of it but objectively it has a lot of problems.

Gen 1 is a broken mess that only had hilarious bugs(MISSINGNO for example) and interesting myths surrounding it at release(Mew under the truck, etc.) as its only redeeming qualities, yet people still think Gen 6 is worse than it somehow

Generation I, how is this even a question? And I've been playing since the beginning. The idea was original with its monsters collection aspect and battling/trading your friends mechanic, which is what sold. But as a rpg per se it was poor even back then.

I don't hate it, mind you, I don't hate any gen. But there are no reasons to play them over FRLG other than fucking with glitches or pure nostalgia.

Gen IV so much

The "Sinnoh Confirmed" meme is way worse that the Hoenn one because SO MANY started with Gen IV. It's far from perfect. Really, the most solid game out of that gen was Platinum.
