First two episodes, sure. But third episode they're bringing in the Rotom dex who's going to be incredibly autistic.

Give it a bit longer. People were saying BW was the absolute shit at first because TR looked like they were going to be competent for once.

The first two episodes were absolutely awful. I'll still keep an open mind, but not off to a good start.

Seeing all the sonic fandom-tier autists rage about MUH SERIOUS ASH is funny, but it's refreshing to see this direction.

It's goofy, lively and relaxing and somehow the design of Satoshi makes him way less obnoxious in general, more like an actual child instead of this weird gary stu who loses hybrid that's been forced for ages.

Seems like an actually fun kid's show and not an aspiring battle shounen being constantly restrained by its young demographic so that it never works.

Right? I quite enjoyed the "new" Ash. The comedic relief was quite nice and well done, and it fits the Alola region well I think. I hope it doesn't turn to shit after like 5 episodes, though.
