So I've got around 670 hours on omega ruby, around 250-350 hours is random encounters / egg hatching. (without shiny hunting techniques)
People always talk about stuff like, "what was your first random shiny." which really annoys me.
How have I never encountered a wild shiny pokemon?
Sorry for sounding like a whiny bitch, I'm just kinda annoyed.
Also I have around 100-150 hours worth of random encounters / egghatching in X & Y yet still no wild shiny pokemon...

Maybe God hates you?
>>30006652
Sadly, that is most likely true...

Chain fish.
I was much the same way- had only ever seen one or two shinies in my entire life of playing a fuckton of pokemon since gen 1....
after just over a month spent chain fishing, i have a full box of self caught shinies.
Look up chain fishing guides for gen VI, and make sure you have the shiny charm.

YOU HAVE BEEN VISITED BY "DAIKAISER, TRUE ULTIMATE DIMENSIONAL ROBO OF JUSTICE"!
YOU WILL ENCOUNTER A SHINY SOON BUT ONLY IF YOU REPLY WITH, "I will nickname my shiny Daikaiser."
>>30006581
I've logged close to 100 hours in X and AlphaSapphire and my only shiny was a Mime Jr.
It could always be worse, anon. It could be a Mime Jr.

"I will nickname my shiny Daikaiser"
>>30006581
I feel this.
The only time i've seen a wild shiny was in a friends game when they were playing.
Otherwise the only one i have someone else purposely bred for me as a birthday gift.
Random Shiny is a meme.

I knew about that, and I have successfully used it. I was more talking about finding one in the wild without looking for a shiny on purpose.

Found a shiny Zigzagoon in Ruby when it was pretty new.
That's the only random shiny I've ever encountered.
>>30006920
Op here.
Even though it's only a zigzagoon, I still envy you...
>>30006877
Dubs confirms.
Played all gens but 3rd. Only even found a single wild shiny.
A Fearow.
Granted, an adamant lvl 50 Fearow carrying a Sharp Beak, but still.

That's fair I guess- but then you know it's really based on luck... You could go thousands of hours with no luck, or get really randomly lucky...
My last random shiny was a caterpie, in that first forest in a freshly reset Y...
I swear it's one of those things where once you get one, it seems way easier/more common to get a bunch...
I traded my first Shiny for a Kyogre
>>30006934
I didn't even use it (because you know, Zigzagoon) and I deleted the save file years ago.
Don't envy me, dude. If you're really into shinies, consider using the Masuda Method, it's what I do successfully. Breeding shinies with HA and perfect IVs is pretty fun and easy.
Finding random shinies is a waste of time, because they'll most likely suck in battle.
I'd even breed you one if you'd like.
I've found shiny Wingull 3 fucking times in my X version on top of other random shinies and a few Matsuda method shinies that all took less than 100 eggs.
I've also found a few shinies in previous games, but no where near the number I've found in X.
Desire sensor. Its real.
My first ever shiny that wasn't a Gyarados was a Bellsprout in Crystal. Got a shiny Bronzor in Plat. Caught a shiny eel thing, the one that evolves to Eelektros in White. Hatched a shiny female Eevee in W2. Found a shiny Floette or whatever its called, but I killed it by accident. Found a shiny Ralts when I was hunting for synchronisers in OR. I hatched a shiny Togepi too but I didn't get the stat spread I wanted, with unknown IV in HP, so it sat in my box.
I've never played a pokemon game past 150 hours too, my average would probably be 60-70 hours each game. The secret to finding shinies? Not give a fuck about them.

I found some:
Onix (Fire Red)
Machop (FR)
Geodude (Sapphire)
Magikarp (Moon)
Magikarp (Moon)
Castform (Sapphire)
Feebas (HG/SS)
Poochyena (Emerald)
Sewaddle (Black)
Herdier (Black)
Rhyhorn (Emerald)
My only random shiny was a Pancham in Y but other than that all my other shinies have been through masuda method and dexnav chaining. Just SOS chained a shiny rockruff.
