It's a complete upgrade aesthetically to normal Raticate. I like it.

It and Rattata are my favorite alola forms with Sandshrew and Sandslash. I lugged the guy all the way past the ghost trial where he just fell off a cliff to uselessness sadly.

I love the way it looks and still love the concept of regional variants, but its base stats are a downgrade.
It traded out a not-bad 97 speed and blah offenses (with GUTS) for mediocre/situational mixed bulk (Thick Fat) and its speed entered limbo. too slow to be an offensive powerhouse (and too weak, for that matter), too fast for trick room.
It could benefit from priority, but there's plenty of priority blockers this gen as well. I guess it is immune to Prankster in and of itself, being a Dark-type, but that still sounds extremely situational and only useful for Darkrai.

I like it.
