Why would you want a Sinnoh remake? Gen 6 sucked since it went straight to a remake instead of Z.

Sinnoh's my least favorite region and yet two of my favorite Gym Leaders show up in that game and no browbeating bullshit is attached.

Already more of a reason to get it over S/M if such a game is being made.

It would be a sequel set right after S&M, not a remake. You would be visiting a completely different Kanto at least 10 years after FRLG.
