Have you even played the games? It doesn't matter if you are underleveled, the AI is mostly total shit and NPC teams have moves significantly worse than their they learn by default at that level so they don't match what the player has available, not to mention you have strong TMs very early, can use held items unlike the NPCs and have a much larger team. It's still better than gen 6, but not even Exp. share and Set together don't solve what makes these games stupidly easy. You can handicap yourself but it doesn't matter against opponents that feel like they don't even try to win.

Finished Moon and I can confirm it's the hardest game since D/P. But to be fair, I played without Exp Share and Z-moves.
