Dark-types just received a buff
it's time for a Dark-type thread
What buff?
>>29982449
Dark types are immune to prankster moves
>weavile keeps getting better now it can't be prankster t-waved or burned
christ please no.
>>29982473
That's strange but I'll take it. First Z-Parting Shot and now this. Pangorbro just became an even better pivot.
>>29982508
>Z-Parting Shot
what does that do?
>>29982473
How does that work? The move loses its priority, or the move just doesn't affect the target at all?
That's kind of fucked up. So if my Zapdos uses thunder wave on a dark type, it'll work, but if my Klefki uses it it'll do nothing?
>>29982545
Not only dropping the target's Atk and Sp.Atk but fully restoring the health of the pokemon switched in, same for Memento.
>>29982545
Lowers the opponent's stats then restores 100% HP to the mon switching in.
>>29982546
No effect at all
K.
>>29982602
Fuck.
>>29982590
That could end up being huge.
The time is now, my old friend.
Thundurus and Klefki on suicide watch. No more free rating on Showdown.
>>29982402
>Dark type nerfed last gen thanks to Fairies
>Slightly buffed with Steel neutrality
>Now slightly buffed to be immune to Prankster
Godzookie, Game Freak.
>>29982402
I don't think I like this system of adding passives to types much.
I like that it's buffing types without messing with the effectiveness table but I like how transparent things are in Pokemon and "X is immune to this specific ability/status/type of move that's not fully described ingame" throws me off
>>29982778
I mean this is really the only example of a passive that isn't blatantly obvious. Grass immune to sleep powder, fire immune to burn, electric immune to t-wave, and ice immune to freeze all seem pretty obvious to me.
>>29982546
>So if my Zapdos uses thunder wave on a dark type, it'll work, but if my Klefki uses it it'll do nothing?
Bingo.
Pokemon like Bisharp, Weavile, Hydreigon, M-Gyara are either hard counters or checks to Klefki, Thundurus or Sableye now.
>>29982854
Grass types are immune to all of the powder-based moves and leech seed.
Man, RIP Meowstic. Weak to Dark AND now they resist it's Prankster moves. Also RIP Sableye, it doesn't have enough boost in it's Mega to use Dazzling Gleam properly, also new Mega speed mechanic.
We could see Klefki and Whimsicott carry damaging Fairy moves more often.
Liepard has U-turn and Play Rough.
Maybe we'll see Thundurus run Focus Blast or even Hammer Arm, if you're crazy.
>>29982854
Darks are basically the underhanded fighting types. Being immune to Prankster is basically telling your opponent "I see through your shit. Are you really trying to prank a prankster?" Not terribly obvious, but I think we'll catch on quick.
>>29982546
>That's kind of fucked up. So if my Zapdos uses thunder wave on a dark type, it'll work, but if my Klefki uses it it'll do nothing?
Yes. If it helps, don't think about it strictly as the move being used, but how it's being deployed. Like this >>29982948
Is Dark the most based type?
>>29983280
yes
>>29982402
>Dark-types just received a buff
Speak for yourself, my non-mega bro just got an undeserved nerf.
Finally my Hydreigon shall return
>>29983280
>>29983316
It's a shame that having Magic Coat kind of renders the buff pointless, but this is still great news.
>>29985512
At least it would have 115 base speed on the turn it megas now.
>>29985674
>they fixed how megas' speed works
oh baby
Loki BTFO!
Speaking of Dark Types, how's the Dark Type Kahuna like? For some reason nobody here ever talks about him. All I know is this name and appearance.
>>29987013
Tsundere old man
>>29983280
By far, especially given what "based" actually means.
Is Hydreigon usable in OU?
>>29987489
Yes, it always has been. The only "true" counter it has is Azumarill, and that's only because Charge Beam is garbo. Now that Z-moves are a thing it's an even better wallbreaker than it was before, assuming you're willing to give up a shot at a dank Porygon-Z sweep.
