Basically, wild Bagon as a 1% chance of calling on a Lv. 10 Salamence on Melemele Island.

I only make mention of this because if you happen to stumble upon such a beast early on, would you capture it? No, never mind if you actually did. My real question would be whether or not you'd consider using it on your team at all?

Also, what other insane, overpowered Pokémon could you potentially capture early on in Sun and Moon that you guys would consider adding to your team? Provided, of course, that you get the chance to actually stumble upon such a creature down the line in the first place.

Pokegenning faggot
>>
Already a thread using the same pic, check the catalog before you post, OP.
>>
>>29975549
I went out of my way and spent 4 hours to catch it. Mence is one of my favorite anyway.
>>
>>29975549
That's ammitting you manage to catch it, you only have pokeballs and a crappy team at that point.
That thing is going to sweep you.
>>
>>29975565
retard faggot
>>
this shit is gonna be the bane of my "catch everything you can before moving on to the next area" runs.
>>
>pokemon now cry for their parents to help them

I really hope they don't remove this like everything else
>>
>>29975788
On a related note, do Sun/Moon have any sort of "You've caught X out of X Pokemon on this route" type system, like ORAS?
>>
>>29975549
>if you happen to stumble upon such a beast early on, would you capture it?
No. I prefer to raise a pokemon to its final evolution than to just have the final form immediately.
>>
>>29975811
>hoping
lol
>>
>>29975813

Not to mention a lv10 Salance isnt likely to be packing Dragon Claw and Fly. Most likely hes sitting there with a good Bite and Growl moveset
>>
>>29975813
I'd still be careful though. That moveset the Salamence is packing can still cause a ton of damage to whatever Fairies you might be packing early on with Ember and Rage. Perhaps the best counter in a sense would be Carbink.

Of course, after I dwindle it's health down, I'd probably switch in Ash-Greninja while I chuck Pokeballs at it.

Please learn game mechanics, Reddit
>>
>>29975905
Why would you think this?
>>
>>29975905
Nope, just base stats + IVs + EVs + Nature like everything else
>>
>look at the encounter tables
>this is actually legit

huh
>>
>>29975948
Nbd, it was just an unusually retarded question. Be honest, are you new here? Maybe post less, read more
>>
>>29975905
Nope
Once a Pokemon evolves, it's stats are as if it had always been the evolved form.
>>
This isn't actually new, though it's the most drastic yet

In XY you could find a level 40 Hydreigon, and there's the level 40ish Volcarona in BW2
>>
>>29975984
Wasn't there lots of stuff like this in BW2 in the tall/shaking grass? Or am I remembering a drayano hack?
>>
>>29975969
Take it easy. He didn't know something so he asked.
>>
>>29975549
45 (5.9%) catch rate it's going to be difficult to vcatch with your weakmons.
>>
>>29975991
Makes sense. At least you asked instead of making uninformed assertions like most of the new migrants. Welcome to /vp/, sorry for jumping down your throat
>>
>>29976031
That's really not so bad. Ditto has a 35 catch rate, to compare, and I've always caught one very early in the gen 2 games.
>>
does this explain lance's dragonite?
>>
>>29975549
it's not 1%. The 1% refer to the Bagon encounter chance, not Bagon calling Salamence chance. That part is still not yet understood (regarding SOS slots distribution when a call occur). The % in the SOS slots in the table dumps are irrelevant they don't mean anything.
>>
>>29976429
Buuuuuut doesn't the Pokemon calling out only call out their own species? Genuine question.
>>
>>29975549
>would you capture it?
Nah salamence is cancer and shoudn't have been allowed in this game at all, same for garchomp line.
>>29975745
>pokeballs
nothing wrong with them, the only mons i didn't catch in pokeballs are UB and HA vulpix
>>
>>29976439
no, some species are easier to obtain by sos battling another species or can only be obtained this way
>>
>>29976439
Nope, they call a pokemon which correspond to a random SOS slot on the same slot position they are in the normal encounter slot (ie: bagon is position 10 on the encounter slot, it can call any pokemon on position 10 of the SOS encounter slots of that encounter table). Most of the time this will be the same pokemon, but sometimes some slots will have their evo form or a unrelated pokemon entirely.
>>
>>29975549
>I'm the one that caught that salamence
Have I been the only one to chain that thing yet?
>>
>>29975817
It has island dex's
>>
>>29976573
Oh disregard that, totally missed >>29975574.

Still weird to see my pictures floating around the internet though.
>>
>>29975549
Also i suspect the OP pic is hax, the ball seems to be beast ball and have fun catching shit catch rate mence with that
>>
>>29976460
>>29976568
So essentially a Bagon may call another pokemon that's not of the same species? Buyfag here.

Bigger res version of the summary screen too
>>
>>29976668
dunno about bagon but pichus can call happiny/pikachu and mareanie can appear instead of corsola reinforcement and start attacking it
>>
>>29976709
>wasting beast balls when great ball fits more
>>
>>29976748
>Using great balls
There's a Lure Ball for a reason. And that reason is Totodile.
>>
>>29976758
I also caught a lure ball totodile
>>
>>29976729
Fuck Mareanie... but that's gnarly with Pichu.
>>
>>29976729
baby pokemon can call Happiny on island 1/2 and Chansey on 3/4.

Also, as a general statement, the levels you'll get from fighting 50+ Bagon makes the Salamence easier to deal with lol.
