It feels like there should be a lot more going on, storywise. Going to Kanto in GSC felt great and was a nice addition. They couldn't add too many events or detailed locations because GF was limited by the GBC cartridges but HGSS have no excuse

>overleveled for the 5/6/7th gyms
You're not forced to go to do these in a specific order. As a result, the gyms are all roughly the same level and difficulty. You're overleveled by the thime you get to the third. The game should have scaled the levels and changed up the teams

I get what they were going for but it's not fun seeing a cool Pokemon you want to raise for your team but it's level 4 and your team is in the 50s

>walking pokemon is cool but there's no option to turn it off
I loved having my pokemon follow me around but I know some people found it annoying. They really should given us an option to keep our pokemon in their pokeballs

Despite all this I still think HGSS is great. If they ever decide to remake Johto again for whatever fucking reason they better do a better job of balancing everything.
