It depends heavily on how competent game freak is. Sun and Moon would work perfectly on the go I think. As a matter of fact, Rotomdex kind of looks like a tablet anyways. (Previous games always made them look like the console and XY's looked like a phone)

It'll have brand new HD graphics, loads of gameplay changes, upgrades and plenty of new features, plus it will be on a new console, making it seem like a new Generation, except it won't have any new Pokemon in it (maybe new regional forms for non-Kanto Pokemon in Kanto?) and it'll be full of Alola references. When asked about it, Masuda and Ohmori will shrug and say they "wanted to continue to surprise players! *laughs*".

After the announcement, /vp/ will shitpost for a year straight about not wanting to go back to Kanto again and "GEN SEVEN POINT FIVE" until it comes out. Then they'll act surprised that it's so shit upon release even though they had been bitching about it since its announcement. It's a fucking SM port people, Pokemon is hot as fuck and the second screen is basically useless in SM, even the new battle interface is practically made to be fitted easyly in a single screen. Plus the Switch it's not compatibile with 3DS titles, so it would make sense for Nintendo (the 3DS let you play all the GEN IV and V titles at launch, you could play GEN III on the DS, GEN I and II on GBA and GEN I on GBC)

Gen 7 relaunch in 2017, Gen 8 at 2020, book it. Basically its the same games, but with some new content, perhaps a west Alola for the post game or Kanto, and the 3DS version gets updated for parity. People really need to understand that the lack of BC is gonna force gamefreaks hand in supporting the Switch, and they are not ready for anything less then an SM upport with a majorp content update, and remakes until they build a new engine.
