Depends. What *don't* you like about it? Is it its competitive potential (or lack thereof)? Is it the design? Is it both?

Your mind is probably loaded with negatives, so I'll just put the pros:
-First unique dual-type for a Grass-Type Starter
-Follows the based-on-an-extinct-species trend that other Grass-Type Starters do
-Has a great Shiny
-Cleverly uses its wings which allow for archery
-Plays up its Ghost theme by being an assassin-like Robin Hood archetype
-Has a design that favors neither stereotypical masculine or feminine characteristics
-Avoids being yet another Flying-Type (which at this point should just be called "Normal in genericness, but with wings sometimes I guess"
-Leagues better than the trash fanart depicting Ballio and the other poorly-designed starter evolutions
-Has a respectable default color scheme as opposed to Chestnaught's, which while cool, should have had the shiny as its regular color
-Most likely to be playable in Smash for the Switch, so seeing it there enough might get you used to it

One negative I can think of is the artist's perfectionist mind-set. They probably have inner-monologues about how incoherent it looks, maniacally repeating "Anatomy, anatomy, anatomy" over and over again. Dunno when this trend started and why it's important. It's a damn fictional video game. We play them because reality is fucking boring.

This. Ghost is my favorite type and I've always wanted a ghost type starter, but now that we got one I can't force myself to like it. Decidueye doesn't have any of the qualities of being a ghost type that i love from other ghosts. No spirits, spookiness, possesion, or interesting lore. It's just an owl.

It probably can't be helped, but have you considered its Ghost theme to be that of the "spirits of the forest" kind? I don't mean your Banshee, your dulahan, or your Yuki-onna, no. I mean those mystical beings that are on a different plane of reality, but wouldn't look out of place in the real world. A:TLA had that going for it in a few of its episodes.
