does overworld wimpod respawn if you kill him?

Where the fuck is that one place you get wimpod? I saw it once but wasn't even thinking and missed it.

There's a Wimpod in the overworld? When in the game does this happen?

on the second island on route 8, there's a little rocky corner where a wimpod roams around. if you swim around and corner him up you can battle him. i killed it and haven't found any since. is there any other places to get it?

yea just figured out he respawns after a certain amount of steps, so no problems there.

Why the fuck do people attack it instead of just paralyzing or sleeping it and throw a ball? I did that and caught it at the first try with a net ball.
