Got any good movesets for Ribbombee?
>>
BOX 1
>>
I was wondering if Ribbombee was any good, same with Lurantis.
Like would it be worth trying to breed for a shiny one with good stats?
Or even use the new method to get a shiny in game?
>>
>>29927629
Talking 6v6 Singles Smogon ruleset or something like VGC?
>>
>>29927689
No thank you. It's my favorite pokemon from Alola
>>
>>29927766
just something that would be good. Like what nature and items i need to use
>>29927753
is there a new method for shinies?
>>
>>29927768
i like it alot as well, but i really wish they kept the nose from its prevo......
>>
>>29927786
eh, I really like it's scarf
>>
It's a decent quiver dancer and gets a 90BP bug move at level 25 making it an ingame monster

Might have some doubles use since it can heal allies with its signature attack
>>
>>29927785
supposedly people have been getting shinies by doing the whole chaining battle where they weaken the mon and wait for it to call back up?
>>

Frail, but makes for a fast attacker. Can boost with quiver dance and can baton pass. Might be useful
>>
>>29927629
Spread depends solely on where it ends up and what the relevant speed creeps are. It has no reason to run Timid 252. I'm thinking Modest 76 HP/252 sp atk/180 speed to creep fully invested base 100s. As for the moveset, Bug Buzz/Moonblast/QD is a must, and the last slot should be Roost if you're running any form of bulk, otherwise HP Ground to get through Steels and Fire.

But I have to reiterate, its set will depend on what meta it finds itself a part of.

>>29927786
The nose/proboscis becomes the scarf. It never lost anything.
>>
>>29927895
i still plan on using it, i dunno, i just liked the little pointy nose, its face feels kinda empty without it, but its not a big enough turn off.
>>
What do you need to breed it with to get Moonblast?
>>
>>29927937
Please let it actually belong to the fairy egg group. Its so hard to find bug pokemon that cross into other egg groups.
>>
>>29927629
I'll be running Choice Specs on this thing most likely since Fairy is good offensively and it's super fast already. I don't see Quiver Dance working all that well off of 60 HP 70 SpDef though Draining Kiss sounds hilarious in a set like that.
>>
>>29927937
>>29927979
It's in Bug and Fairy.
>>
I forget, does Bug Buzz hit multiple targets or no? I could see this being good in doubles with Bug Buzz/Dazzling Gleam/Quiver Dance/coverage filler
>>
>>29927629
Sleep Powder
Quiver Dance
STAB
STAB
>>
>>29928676
It doesn't get sleep powder.
>>
>>29928676
will STABbing the enemy twice be efficent enough?
Where will the STAB be aimed at, i guess maybe if you have enough strength/accuracy maybe one Stab will be enough?
>>
>>29928706
+1 quiver dance with bug and fairy stab is not a joke with stats like ribombee's
>>
>>29927629
Found this thread last week: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/cutiefly-ribombee-discussion.3586441/
>>
>>29927753
lurantis is so bad. servine will probably outclass it in pu
>>
>>29928746
i wasn't making fun of Ribbombee, i was making fun of the word Stab, i love Ribbombee, she is one of the cutest bug pokemon
>>
>>29928933
I realize, I was just pointing out how OP ribombee is going to be.
>>
He could be a good support mon

>Give speed to one of the many slow Alolamons
>Can heal with pollen puff
>Can baton pass out quiver dances
>>
>>29928978
>has the same frailty of every other bug type.
>>
>>29927753
Depends on what you mean by any good. OU? Maybe not. Ribombee seems solid, Lurantis is... kinda butt. Still not total shitmon, though, think Vileplume tier stats (it also gets leaf storm contrary, but is slow as shit so good luck with that)
>>
I really like it but it makes me mad it's so frail... Wish it had 510-20 bst at least. I don't know if it'll be good in competitive but at least in game it is.
>>
For Singles probably a generic special sweeper set. Something like:
Leftovers/Life Orb
Ability: Sweet Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest/Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Moonblast
- Pollen Puff
- Baton Pass/Roost

Maybe replace Quiver Dance and Baton Pass/Roost for Protect and Speed Swap for doubles.
>>
>>29929095
Pollen Puff is inferior to Bug Buzz unless your playing Doubles.
>>
>>29929457
i agree with you, but Doubles is likely where Ribbombee will shine best.
>>
>>29929457
Oh yeah, I forgot Bug Buzz was a sound move. Pollen Puff for doubles for sure though.
>>
>>29929095
She is pretty frail however, so no point using leftovers on her. I would put a focus sash on her just to be sure I can get off the first quiver dance.
>>
Focus Sash
Ability: Sweet Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest/Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Moonblast
- Pollen Puff
- Baton Pass/DrainKiss

>Draining Kiss resores HP equal to that of 75% of damage inflicted
>With a Big Root this is increased to 105%

So a Big Root Draining Kiss heals for 105% of damage dealt? Is this a thing?
>>
>>29927629
In doubles ribombee sounds great. Can choose to heal or damage with one move and it gets speed swap so it can make anything in alola fast.
>>
>>29927629
>>29927827
This thing is Volcarona Lite

Run this with Speed/HP with QD/Roost
Run it with Speed/Spa with Sash or Lum

Moonblast, Energy Ball, and Bug Buzz cover a disgustingly wide range.

Looks fun.
>>
>>29927937
Most likely Ilumise.

>>29928311
No. It's single target.

I really really like it. Since it seems to be doubles oriented, a fast bulky support set seems to be the most useful.
It's a bummer they nerfed Dark Void since its ability is a direct counter to it.
>>
>>29930168
>Bug Buzz
Isn't Pollen Puff much better, though? Specially in Doubles.
>>
>>29928311
I think it'll mostly be used for Speed Swapping to something like Dhelmise or Wishiwashi
>>
>>29930543
Pretty much Bug Buzz for Singles, Pollen Puff for Doubles.
>>
>>29929963
It's a multiplier, so 75*1.3 = 97.5% of damage dealt is restored. Not quite as crazy but still pretty strong.
>>
>>29930168
Gets walled by Fire, Steel, and Poison completely though. I'm going with HP Ground instead of Energy Ball.
>>
>>29927629
choice specs/life orb
sweet veil
-pollen puff
-moonblast
-baton pass/quiver dance(if life orb)
-hidden power fire
>>
>>29930538
>Illumise
>Female only
>>
I just want to know if Ribombee and Mimikyu can work on a competitive team together.
>>
>>29931534
Singles? Yeah sure why not
Doubles? Ribombee is absolute shit
>>
>>29931534
Mimikyu would enjoy the team recovery.
He would have a good oppurtunity to set up a bulk up or a swords dance, and with decent speed and shadow sneak he could do some damage.
I think mimikyu would have more function in singles hard stopping an opponent sweep with a wil o wisp, twave, or just attacking, but he has a great movepool and very diverse potential.
I worry about ribombee being so frail, but it's got some cool tricks up its sleeve too and it might be the second best quiver dance user, unless masquerians boosts actually help it do something.
>>
>>29931563
No it isn't you dunce.
