I'm not buying the new games because there are no HMs in them. I can't go on a Pokemon journey unless I rely on whatever I catch for transportation.

I never got the hate for HMs, but the defence people have for them doesn't exactly ring true for me either. Tbh, I wish they were more like passive abilities that certain pokemon had. Almost like the ranger games. Some pokemon intrinsically had the ability to fly. Some to swim. Some to glow at 1000 lumens.
