Now it works the same way Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina's orbs do.

Since the dataminers discovered the Soul Dew will be legal in VGC2017, my guess is they did it so Soul Dew doesn't completely outclass their Megas.

Mega Latios still sucks, but now there's more of a reason to use Mega Latias.

But Soul Dew was never legal. It was almost certainly nerfed so they didn't have to ban it, which is a good move

Soul Dew is a really generic item now.
