It was a fantastic ride. The main game felt much more complete than XY's. I haven't gotten much into the post game yet but I usually don't consider it as or more important than the main game like most of the people on this board (least the vocal ones).

Yes and no.
It's filled with great ideas, the new features are good, nice ost, characters and story. The game feels more like a JRPG, in a good way, and offers some challange. New Pokémon are great, but there are too few of them. Most alola variants are cool, but the concept as a whole is wasted potential.
The game itself is techically horrible; FPS going down everywhere, Triples and Rotation were removed because the team working on the game couldn't figure out how to implement those without making the game lag too much.
So it's basically garbage, but very pretty garbage.

Depends on how you like the story since the game stops you with a cutscene at the beginning of every town and some routes. If you enjoy the story you'll probably like the game. If you don't then the consistent cutscenes might wear you down and hurt your overall enjoyment

Game feels the need to try and shoehorn PC by describing how skilled you are as a trainer and how nice you are to your Pokemon every other moment.
Game can be summed up as Pokemon Lillie guest starring PC.
Routes are linear as fuck and small.
Lagging anytime there is more than 2 Pokemon on the field.
Battles take a long time to even start up compared to previous gens.
Removed mechanics and replacing them with worse ones.

Pros:
More of a challenge than XY at least.
Routes are nice to travel.
HMs were replaced.
Main villain is better than XY.
