All but kangaskan have unique niches

A- Raichu: Raichu won world's last year, don't underestimate it. However if it succeeds as a fake out user it may look more like last year's and not uniquely Alolan. However priority protection, new matchups (top kek), and new ability (surge surfer) may see better use.

A- Persian: A poor man's liepard, looses prankster, but gains technician boost on fake out and bite, also gets stab foul play

Haryiama: Don't forget it won world's too, don't underestimate it. It's ability for status absorption may be very helpful, but we will see how it fairs in a meta full of fairies.

Sableye: People will still cry about banning this thing to ubers because prankster sableye is a wrecking machine, even with out a mega or magic bounce. Fake out, quash, protect, calm mind, shadow ball, dark pulse, snarl, will- o- wisp, and toxic all round out a tremendous Pokemon.

Weavile: Another great dark type, maybe a little frail, but the only mon with fake out and inner focus, so it can't be faked out. Add ice priority, pursuit, knock off, icicle crash, low kick, and taunt with that speed and you know you've got a tremendous asset.

That's cool. I just looked and Togedemaru actually gets Fake Out and it looks much better than I thought it was at first glance. It has a wide movepool and also LightningRod, but unfortunately does not get Endeavor. It does get Tickle, Reflect, Nuzzle, Spiky Shield(!), Encore, and Wish! Since Raichu no longer has LightningRod, do you think I could use Togedemaru to fill the same role? I like this unique pokemon and it has many moves that are interesting.

I did research last night when we learned the legendaries are legal in vgc17. Here are some answers I found:

Anyone looking to just have battles every now and then to test out teams or, strategies, builds, etc? I have a lack of PokeFriends and the few I have don't want to battle me mostly because I dedicate myself to team building and EV training. If you know how to use things outside of a VGC format that's a plus.

For the record, I just use whatever Pokemon I feel like, I don't care about Smogon's tier system. If I wanna use a RU mon with a OU then I will and if it works then good for me. I feel the uber competitiveness of the meta is ruining the game and makes everyone a giant-ass douche towards people who just want to play how they want. Just play how you want with your imperfect, poor nature Pokemon. If I can make it work I don't see how others can't.
