what is gen2

also, if they're sticking for many smaller 70ish generations instead of big 150ish generations from now on, having fossils EVERY gen would just mean that there would be more fossils than non-fossil Rock types.

So we have just regular Rocks this time and some old fossils in the regionaldex as well (4 lines in fact, gen4/5 fossils).

when/if gen8 addsnew fossils, I hope they do something new with them.
instead of "hurdurr just another pair of 2-stage fossils", like make just one 3-stage fossil instead, or 3 1-stage ones, or a split evo fossil etc...or heck make a legendary fossil or something....or have the starters be newly resurrected fossils etc...

Yeah there are plenty of good ones to choose from its just new stuff is always exciting. to be honest I would rather have relicanth get some love with a Dunkleosteus evolution or mega-evolution. (I know the whole point of a coelacanth is that is has remained unchanged forever but its pokemon after all.
