Lines cleanup. To be fair CSP and SAI seem to be the only programs that don't give ugly soft brushstrokes at small resolutions, so if you used PS or something else that's what did it.

Fun tip for upscaling, in PS you can rescale by Nearest Neighbor by 2x or 4x, do your edit as best as you can at that resolution, then scale down normally, and it'll resize very crisply and help with the ugly brush issues. I think GIMP has an option like that too but I don't know it. SAI does not have an equivalent.

95% of the issues I have is just a lack of cleanup, there's a ton of floating stray marks in quite a few of these that can be easily seen before posting by working on a non-white background.

Last time I was here, someone pounced on my edits for oddities that were pretty much on the original artwork, and some coloring/texturing garbage that I assume didn't see at my screen's gamma but someone else did. The difference in quality acceptance in that thread versus this thread was what really threw me off.

I'm not saying your wrong in fact you right in all regards just this just people having fun.

In the case of the worst offender(which was mine ) it was just a quick edit I made and the problems with the leg was an accident. I didnt notice until after I posted I didnt even touch the leg but a mistake of editing something else. I've only been doing this for a week so im making alot of mistakes. I've been getting more careful with the stray bits floating around though.

Also, Im sorry to hear about someone being critical about your edit since you have some real skill and whoever pounced on you for something small on that was probably just a troll

The fact you took on such a big request as a beginner is commendable! The more you challenge yourself, the easier future images will be, and the more fun you'll have making more edits. The important thing is that you know what to look out for, since simple mistakes like that are mostly avoidable. You did a great job with the legs and feet, and the clothes follow the contour of the body, which made the stray lines all the more jarring, y'know?

I used the first for the shading
second to texture/thicken up the lines that were already there, probably requires normal lines underneath.
Feel free to mess with the hard/soft and size settings, I have my tablet set as incredibly sensitive for light touches and less wear on the nibs.
