If it makes you feel any better, you will always have every old Pokemon thats in new regional dexes, no matter which ones they do or don't include. That's how I see it anyway. Even if I don't need every old Pokemon to get the shiny charm that's still 220 Pokemon I don't need to catch again

BW and B2W2 had this same problem but everyone on this board has a hard-on for those games.

Cutscenes felt a lot less obtrusive in those games thanks to them being instant, text speeds being super fast, and animations being simple sprite movements. Wheras in SM everything is a separate cutscene and those have to load and are paired with slow animations and somewhat slower text. I like the more cinematic approach but they use it for everything in SM when they don't need to
