5 days left before release but I was ruined.

All of that aside from point 5 and 6 was revealed by TPCi themselves sooner or later.
Aside from story detail they managed to spoil basially everything related to the new pokémon themselves, like with XY and ORAS.

>willingly read leaks
>mad at leaker for spoiling
reddit everybody
Ignoring that this is a cancerous reddit screencap, I understand the wanting to be surprised part, but to me, seeing an interesting-looking mon in prerelease footage and having to looking forward to try it out and learn more about it in-game is much more enticing.

Fuck off. Entitled faggot cunt.
Literally stay away from YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and 4chan. It'll but hard but worth it in the end.

Pokemon isn't even that great anymore to justify not spoiling yourself. The shitstorms and hype are better than the games at this point.
The significant spoilers were all contained pretty well. The only reason it was ruined for me was because I couldn't resist hovering over the black bars.

>*I* read everything about the games before they were released!
>Why was I spoiled! What the fuck Gamefreak! You suck!

Different people respond differently to leaks. I let myself look at all the new mons and whatever story details leaked, and I'm still really enjoying the game thus far (cutscenes and Pokemon Amie without minigames notwithstanding)

This. All of you autists trying to recapture a childish sense of wonder are really naive. It doesn't exist.
I'd much rather have cynical adults discussions for months on end, with endless speculation, BTFO and other dank memes.
I get a shitload more excited about a big announcement/leak than I ever would about seeing that Pokemon in-game for the first time. I'd probably just say "oh neat" and move on.

See, this ended up happening with me. I took quite a break from Pokemon. Was all into Red, beat Silver a few times, but by the time Ruby/Sapphire rolled around I was kind of done, that and I didn't have a GBA.
So it took me quite a few years. From 2001 to 2008 for me to try and pick up Pokemon again. A friend let me borrow his DS and copy of Diamond. I remember liking it quite a bit, but the new Pokemon weren't all "WOW!", it was more like "Heh.", and move on.
