Totems replace gyms. They are battles against wild pokemon with some gimmickies. There are also the captain (optional) and kahuna fights, which are just the same as gym leaders.
There is a League.

Exp Share is fixed, so no more overleveled shit. Some of the Totem fights are fucking hard. Z-Moves do make the game much easier, but you can choose not to use them, I guess.

Gyms are replaced with trials, which vary in what you have to do. Some are still gym-esque. Instead of a gym leader, they each end with a "totem" pokemon, which is a single strong pokemon that gets stat ups from the start of the fight, along with some other stuff to make the fight harder. I don't know what you meant by this, but Oricorio is pretty easy find. Minior has self-destruct and can call for help if you lower its HP to see what color it is so good luck.

Melemele Meadow occasionally has sparkling spots. These are the nectar needed to change to Pom-Pom Style.
On Akala Island's Royal Avenue, there are pink flowers which have the pink nectar for Pa'u Style.
Ula'Ula Meadows is the same deal as Melemele except its for Baile Style.
Haven't found Sensu or its flowers on Poni yet, but I'm still doing the story stuff on Exeggutor Isle.
