Necrozma in its ultimate form opened the original Ultra Portal to invade the Pokemon world. Was beheaded by Solgaleo/Lunala and that's why they ended up being revered. In the sequels, Aether's tampering causes Necrozma to become reunited with its body, and you have use the alternate box-art legendary (like in BW2) to tame/catch it.

Not fusion lile Black/White Kyurem, buta really fucked up evolution path were the light eminating from Solgaleo/Lunala is absored into the Necrozma body that latched onto it in the cocoon stage.
