I see people talking about how hard some specific battles like the totems are but I have not struggled with any of them despite being complete shit at the game, is /vp/ somehow even worse than I am?

I've been playing with only Alolan mons so far and there's been a few actually hard battles here and there. Like Magnemite, Olivia's battle, Glaceon, your friend's A-Raichu, that fucker swept half my team, plus I've been avoiding exp share so my team is exactly 1 or 2 levels behind at all times.

It's very early in the game. llima battles you and he has a smeargle that hits pretty decently hard as it has EVs in it's attack and 31 IVs and you're pokemon are only around level 6-10 at that point.

The games are still easy as fuck. You guys are getting beat by fucking battles designed for ten year olds.

Totem battles can be a pain depending on what ally the totem calls

Wishiwashi has an Alomomola with Heal pulse and Helping hand also Lurantis calls a Castform with Sunny day

Also the free + all stats doesn't help, though you can gimmick your way out with the X items or Toxic stall if you want it easy.
