Horde Battles made EV training a breeze. If you play competitive it's a godsend, if you don't it's a minor inconvenience at worst and it's baffling how that's your biggest gripe with XY.

Why everyone here (me included) hates gen VI?

I hate it because there was no endgame

I liked Gen VI, even after spoiling myself on everything pre-release I still had more hype for the games than I do with SM after spoiling myself on the latter games' mechanics.

Gen 6 introduced trainer customization which I actually love.
They might have introduced few new Pokemon but the overall quality of the designs is actually pretty good.

I just don't like the games. X was the only Pokemon game I didn't enjoy in the slightest and ORAS, while a better game than RS, wasn't worse than Emerald.

Other than Gen 6;

It introduced the physical/special split.

It had a great third version as well as great remakes.

If you're talking abot XY then:
- Very dissapointing post-game compared to BW2;
- smaller amount of Pokemon, but this is something that is happening in Gen VII too;
- customization is worse than people expected;
- worst group of rivals in the series, 2 out of 4 do nothing;
- story went back to Gen 3 levels, most of NPCs do nothing unlike BW characters.

Also people overhyped it pre-release.
