Is Marowak strong enough to be a trick room sweeper in my doubles team for vgc 17?

Does he have good enough coverage?

I really really love this mon, but sadly I don't have any pics to contribute. Can't wait for showdown to implement gen 7.

With lighting rod it will be able to tank those discharge attacks as well as counter electrics in general but trick room to make it a fast sweeper doesnt seem tovbe happening with no increase in its attack stats at all.

Oh i just was talking about base stats. But bone club essentially means it never needed a base stat increase. But it wouldnt hurt to have over 300 attack at all times. Especially if the bone club gets knocked off that would nuter its advantage.

Do you realize how stupid this sounds? Of course it "wouldn't hurt" it "wouldn't hurt" any mon to have that. It'd also be pretty OP. THICC club gives him ridiculous attack and the trade off is that it's vulnerable to knock off.

I'm probably the most dissapointed by Marowak this gen out of any of the new pokemon. I fucking LOVE it, quickly became my favorite Ghost type, but man I was really hoping for a base speed increase.

That being said, I don't think all is doom and gloom for it. The type change is a huge deal. It resists/is immune to anywhere from 10-11 types, depending on the ability. Resisting nearly 2/3rds of the entire type chart is pretty fucking good, and makes for some passable bulk for switch ins and forcing things out. Not to mention, its usable coverage got significantly better. Rock Head Flare Blitz is inifnitely better than Rock Head Double Edge as well.

I honestly think this guy can be totally salvaged if it ever gets Shadow Sneak. Coming off of that monstrous attack, good type combo, and potential SD, that shit will fucking sting. It's such a simple change, but I honestly believe that would at least put it solidly in UU with a niche OU viability.

I was sad he' didn't get buffed too but then I realized with that typing, those abilities, and STAB Flare Blitz off THICC club boosted attack he could actually become OP pretty easily.

As is he's honestly pretty good, certainly better than regular Wak. He's also pretty interesting like he has all this power but his terrible speed holds him back so you have to figure out how to account for that, if they just made him another "le speedy sweeper" or a boosting priority attack spammer he'd be pretty boring. He'd be really good, but also pretty boring imo.

Yeah, I can understand why having a fast Ghost/Fire type pokemon with Deoxys-A levels of Attack would be problematic. It's likely for the best.

I can't wait to get my hands on one and test it out. It's not gonna be dominating the meta anytime soon, but it's still a significant improvement over regular Marowak. Not something I'd sleep on.

And it still has that really good defence so any hits itll take from physical will just bouce off it.
