The game literally tells you to go out and scan the codes of your friends. Besides, it doesn't give you the full dex info, just a "seen". Useful for finding the exact patches of grass where you can encounter a mon.

how does qr codes work?
Like you just scan the code and you can see that pokemon on the map, then you run into the grass and catch?
Does it have a specific moveset, level and does this work on legendary to?

It just adds it as seen to your dex, so you can check what route to find them on like any other game.

Yes but only a select few, not sure larvitar is in it, and it takes 10 days of scanning QR codes to get your first random one, not from a QR code (there are only QR codes for alola pokemon)
