Once you scan 10, you can use island scan. It spawns a rare pokemon somewhere on your current island.

I was looking at the shiny locks, and noticed that all those pokemon grouped up were things I was seeing in the QR codes. (Gothorita, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, And Swinub now)

The pokemon is set per day per island. I didn't use my island scan yesterday (aside from testing and resetting multiple times to see it doesn't change), and it swapped to Totodile on the first island today.

There is nothing in the data, unlike RS which had it hidden until FRLG was released. It looks like it'll be something linked to the bank instead. Shiny Charm is now for Alolan Dex, instead of national dex.

It's set per day. Has nothing to do what you QR scan.

Honedge appears on the second island. If it's not there and you reset 10,000 times, it won't be there. You need to wait for the date to change (it seems)

I scanned various different QR codes and reset each time to see if my islands would change. They only changed naturally the next day.

So if all four islands don't have something you want, just wait.
