Turn order was set before mega evolution. So, for example, Bannette couldn't take advantage of Prankster on turn 1, or Beedrill had to run Protect 100% of the time since you couldn't use the speed boost on the first turn. Now they can.

Side effect for this is that Sableye now loses the Prankster move it had after mega evolving, and Pokémon like Garchomp are effectively slower on turn 1.

Beedrill is a good case since it's speed boost is more noticeable. You'll have to do some calcs on what you would outspeed as a Mega.

Adrenaline Orbs have two uses
1. Pokemon that call for help at low health are more likely to appear. Most Pokemon call for help from the same family, meaning if you pick one off over and over again you can chain them infinitely and get greater control over your EV yields over past games.

Even if the games don't turn out so well, all these adjustments more than make up for it for me. Aerodactyl may already have a great 130 base speed, but using a non-speed boosting nature one in Battle Spot wasn't so convenient since it could absolutely not stay in to Mega Evolve against threats like Greninja.
