Alolan marowak will make a fantastic check for many bugs. The most prominent ones that it hard checks are galvantula and scizor but it's a great switchin to most bugs and many electric types, especially thundurus, magnezone, and lightningdoge.

Yeah, it has LightningRod, but its special stat is still terrible. Besides, LightningRod doesn't mesh well with Marowak's typical held item Thick Club, for that double Attack stat.

I'd think Rock Head would be preferable over LightningRod just so it can unleash Flare Blitzes without recoil.

Tapu Koko + Pelipper/Politoed gives Koko a 270 bp move that never misses

Galvanize explosion golem does absurd damage if used in electric terrain, all while not hurting ground type allies and boosting lightning rod partners

Haven't played the game at all yet but have been reading various leaks.

Arcanine gets an attack called Burn Out that deals fire damage then removes the Fire type from it (makes it normal type); it then gets STAB on Extreme Speed

Looking into Tapu Bulu and things that function well with Grassy Terrain. Nature Power is counted as a status move and turns into Energy Ball on Grassy Terrain; this gives Prankster Whimsicott priority STAB

Araquanid gets Water Bubble as an ability (-50% fire damage taken and immune to Burn), it also gets Entrainment to give that to allies.

Apparently Stockpile Z-move restores 100% of your HP.

There's also Z-Parting Shot and another Z-move that knock you out but fully heal the Pokemon coming in. That's pretty cool.

Comfey is surprisingly bulky and gets a healing grass move that heals allies and heals even more on Grassy Terrain. There could be good synergy on a Doubles team with Tapu Bulu setting up terrain, then sending in your Ground-weak mons to get healed by Comfey (who has even SpDef and Speed + healing options + Triage to not die any time soon).

Alolan Muk with Power of Alchemy can gain the ability of its ally that faints. Have a Life Orb Shedinja use Shadow Sneak, die, pass on Wonder Guard to an Air Balloon A-Muk and BAM -- no weaknesses on a very bulky mon. It has same stats as regular Muk, so have A-Muk start Cursing/attacking or throwing around Toxics.

Dragon Dance now lowers your Defense one level. Could be fun to Encore somebody into their Dragon Dance, then slap the shit out of them (not really a complex strategy...)

Z-Splash is +3 Attack. Azumarril lost Belly Drum, but now can use this to get half the attack boost without any HP loss.

Z-Destiny Bond and Z-Grudge make you the target (a la Follow Me). Could be a fun way to let your ally get one big set up turn in Doubles.

Z-Acupressure doubles the chance of critting. Citizen Snips could bulk up his allies or self with this.

Also apparently Burn Up makes you typeless. So no STAB on Extremespeed Arcanine, but you get no weaknesses which is cool
