So, here's the bad news everyone's been waiting for.

The Locked Shinies.

AKA, Shinies that you can't get no matter what you try.

Found this by rooting around in the game's tables (via Pokehex's goods), and here's the breakdown:

The following ARE Shiny Locked:
-Tapu Koko
-Tapu Lele
-Tapu Bulu
-Tapu Fini
-Solgaleo (The one encountered during Story)
-Lunala(The one encountered during Story)
-Nihilego
-Buzzwole
-Pheromosa
-Xurkitree
-Kartana
-Celesteela
-Guzzlord
-Necrozma

On the plus side, all of the above are guaranteed 3 perfect IVs, like in Gen 6.

These are also Shiny Locked:
(Pikipek from intro to catching)
(Totem Pokemon)
(Totem Pokemon Summons)
(Most "Scripted" fights)

HOWEVER!

Most Gift Pokemon apparently DO NOT have Shiny Locks, which includes:

-Rowlet, Litten, & Popplio Starter
-Any Revived fossil Pokemon
-The Eevee you receive in an egg
-Gift Porygon
-Type: Null received from Gladion
-The SECOND Cosmog you receive (!!! Meaning you CAN get a Shiny Solgaleo/Lunala through evolution!)
-Some Magearna event that I'm not sure of?

(Type:Null, Cosmog, and the Magearna are ALSO guaranteed 3 perfect IVs).

I believe someone confirmed that the PID/TID/SID are fixed on the Greninja after transferring, so no shiny. I'm not 100% sure on that though.

I guess the QR pokemon are not going to be as wide spread as I expected then. I've seen Marill, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Gothorita in my checks.

Going by the 3 IV rule, Type: Null and all the ultra beasts are internally considered legendaries.

No lock on anything for Null, besides guaranteed 3 perfect IVs.

Get yourself a Pokemon with the nature you want and the Synchronize ability, and have it at the front of your team when you accept Type:Null, and you'll get that nature every time (assuming it still works like in Gen VI).
