From what we see from its move pool right now, it's ok. Most sound moves it learns are Normal Type. Once it starts to get more sound moves with different typings for coverage, it'll be hindering to it.

Scald is better unless you run a gimmicky scarf set or something.

A Surf that goes through subs is more useful than Torrent.

It makes hyper vioce into a single target surf, so if you want that for doubles is nice.

my only question is if you choose rowlet or popplio as your starter can they start with their hidden abilities (long reach and liquid voice). seeing as you only get one rowlet or popplio in the game and their evolution lines are the only ones with long reach and liquid voice, no other pokemon has those abilities. so if your rowlet or popplio doesn't have the ability from the start then you effectively can never have it/ breed it.

Literally just a type change. Confirmed to do not bonus damage. I know, it's shit but GF really went out of their way to make it so. It's better with Torrent even though Torrent is Torrent.

It turns Hyper Voice into basically a substitute-immune Surf, so that'd be a plus if it gets walled by sub sets. Otherwise you're better off with Scald.
