The dub will never become good with SM, Anon, why are you expecting this? TPCi's dubs have only gotten worse and worse with time, to the point that even 4Kids did a much better job, so why would anything change now about it?

I'm going to tell you now that (a) they'll leave the OST intact for the first 2 episodes because they're a preview, (b) they'll then retroactively replace 90% of the OST again in those two episodes and onwards because they want to make shekles on the production as always, (c) the script writing/dialogue in the dub will never improve as long as James Cathcart is in charge of it (and he has been since BF/Season 9), and (d) the voice acting will suck as always.

If I'm wrong that the SM dub will suck, then sure, I'll apologize though.

There's nothing wrong about watching dubs. Some can actually be pretty good, or have entertainment value, if nothing else.

The current TPCi Pokemon dub does not possess any of the above qualities. It consists of the weak link of the 4Kids dub (James Cathcart aka Jimmy Zoppi aka the man of fifty aliases) in both a creative (bad script writing/dialogue) and performing fashion (terrible voice acting for James, Meowth & Prof. Oak), a cast of mostly literally whos who have never done an Anime dub before being in the Series (and it shows in how terrible the voice acting is), and a music replacement score that is so intolerable that it legitimately is on par with the following baby toy with its elevator, UFO, and ballerina stuff since Season 17 began.

You could watch DP because it's top tier. Ash is competent, the fights are clever, and Paul is Ash's best rival bar none.

You should watch all of the rival battles, the gym battles, if you like contests watch Dawn with those, anything with Team Galactic and Hunter J, the episode with Paul and Regigigas, any episode where Ash's pokemon had development, DP 094, and then the entire Pokemon League.


With regards to BW, watch BW 092 and BW 116. Those are the only two episodes worth remembering in BW. Then watch Decolora.
