Is anyone here versed in competitive monotype?

I wanna run a bug team but SR is fucking me up. I have a rapid spinner (Armaldo) but it dies 99% of the time and they just SR again and throw out a wall and try to stall out the game.

I eventually want this team in-game but I cant seem to get it to work because of SR and walls. For reference my team is Galvalantula, Volcrona, Mega Heracross, Yanmega, Scizor and Armaldo.

I'm not stupid, I've studied extensively and just feel like I'm losing to stupid shit.

Dunno. It's got SRocks, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes as breedable Egg moves IIRC, so you can use it as a dedicated setter if you want. I'm not super big into competitive, so you might want to give it a few tries either way on Showdown.

How do you decide on movesets? I usually just go to Smogon and copy that but I feel like I should be thinking of my own.

I taught my mega cross bullet seed, it helps out alot. He isn't good non mega, since it knows bullet seed, pin missile, rock blast and close combat, but he works well to fuck shit up.

Smogon is a great place to start, but their movesets aren't going to be optimized for your team's needs. I usually like to go from smogon to the pokemon's bulbapedia page inb4 serebii, the bulba page is easier to read for this specific purpose to view their movesets, and after getting a STAB move or two, giving different moves based on my team composition and common weaknesses they have. For example, I was going to put run a Rock Slide/Iron Head/Knock Off/Drain Punch set on an doubles A.Vest Scrafty, but my trick room setters are total taunt bait, so running a fake out rather than a rock slide gives my setters the chance to get it off turn one.
