Has anybody theorized about their Doubles strategies yet?

I'm thinking about doing a Rain team for the VGC17, but it looks crap. I lost access to Ludicolo, Kabutops, and Kingdra because of Alolan pokedex-only.

Maybe I should give up on a rain team and go for some type of Terrain. To relate to OP, I noticed that Raichu will outspeed anything in the game after a 1-turn setup of electric terrain.

Actually what they did is not forced but kinda pushed a lot a people out their comfort zone. A good mixed team has Alolan Raichu, Tapu Koko and Drizzle which complement eachother and help with weaknesses or typical drawbacks (EQ spam, Sleep spam, etc) with a few more mons and the right balance Electric Rain and Grassy Sun are gonna be scary af. Hell SR Stoutland with Psy Fangs (which breaks through screen if it does get it) Shore Up or the like Sandygast and Gigalith are gonna be hella fucking scary, even fucking Snow is scary now thanks to Aurora Veil and Komm'o getting Overcoat. Slap a third mon on for the Snow team's trifecta to balance it and over all it's gonna be scary for VGC17 and a near repeat of VGC 2012 I think? (12 or 13 was BIG in Weather Wars, maybe both.)

Yes Tapu koko is going to be impossible to deal with. Electric/Fairy gives perfect neutral coverage because there is no ground/fire type in Alolan region.

You know what Thick Club does right? It doubles its attack stat; Marowak won't be hurting for damage.
You know what Lightningrod does right? It redirects all Electric attacks and grants Marowak an immunity plus boosts its Sp. Atk by one stage (though that part doesn't matter)

The game isn't even out and you've already determined Tapu Koko to be unbeatable. This is why /vp/ can't into competitive.

To everyone asking about Charjabugs way of evolution, i saw a guy streaming the game yesterday and he had a level 47 charjabug on his team, he eventually got to i believe the first cave you go into on poni island and it leveled up, it evolved after that, so i'm assuming its that cave, but i can't guarantee it.

There is no move or ability that just straight up cancels weather or terrains is there? I know you can levitate out of terrain but that doesn't help because tapu koko is sitting in his own terrain and collecting the boost from it.

There needs to be a move that just cancels weather and terrain. Otherwise it forces teams to run their own weather and terrain because it is needed to cancel the enemy's, and at that point your choice of weather and terrain dictates your entire team composition.

How does WishiWashi work? Does it revert back to the single fish form at any point? Watching Lurantis play makes it seem like it stays in School form unless it switches out.

How could you take advantage of the anti-priority with team design? I would normally put fast-and-frail special attackers down for that list, but I don't see any Alolan pokemon that are designed that way. You can even get a summoned Pokémon calling another partner into battle if the first gets knocked out.

Yes, and it's kind of obnoxious. Regular wild Pokemon try to call for help when their HP hits yellow.

It might not actually come, but when help does manage to arrive it turns into a double battle without allowing you to send out your own second Pokemon. Also, even if you faint the Pokemon that originally called for help, the 'helper' can then call for its OWN help, etc. etc.

And of course you can't throw a ball while there's two wild Pokemon on the field, so trying to catch something you really want can be prolonged a ton while you try to fend off all these fucking helper Pokemon.
