Here all teams are close in strength so if one team doesn't do it the other might. Today I got two gyms in a busy area and was able to claim my coins, minutes latter those two were down and an hour latter my last one went down too. Now I'm just weakening enemy gyms in the hopes of depleting their potions if they try to build it up again or let the two factions fight each other.

Can someone explain how the IV appraisal works, specifically the stats and how it affects battle? It is really important to have those attack, stamina and defense as high as possible if you are active in gym battle (offense and defense)

Let's see. I maxed it out when i was level 31 (to rank 3 places higher in a gym). It's level 32.5 with a poor attack IV. 502=10/15/32. Im likely not gonna waste candies/dust to break 2600 and done with it for now.

It has ZH/Solar Beam (just realized seed bomb is also SB) My second treeman got ZH/seed bomb. And 3rd got confusion solar beam and is 93% and I'll hit 2600 by level 31 so I'm focusing on dust.

Took down a lvl 10 Valorfag gym last night with nothing but 2K+ mons in it WITH EASE! I'm Instinct and my disctrict is 100% valor country. Those gyms haven't changed in a month. My mon was kicked out before I got home, but man did it feel good to destroy those fags. The gym is in a small park you can drive around and you can also reach the gym from your car. You can hit like 7 stops if you drive around and at night there's no traffic at all. I'll keep doing this every night as long as the black friday event is on.

Honestly, it's good that they made it easier to take down level 10 gyms, because seeing the same lv10 gyms for weeks (both your own colour and other colours) is very demotivating because you know you can't really do anything useful about them. You could spend like half an hour and your entire stock of items to take one out, but for what? Ten coins and the unlikely possibility that others of your own team might contribute to the gym you started?

It's retarded that they reduced the prestige gain for training at gyms though.

If you take a gym you are just wasting a revive and potions, so unless you are about to gather coins there is no point in putting your pokemon there. On the other hand when you take down a gym the rival team have to spend more items than you do so it is better to take them down over and over again so they won't have the resources to spend taking you down.

not that guy, I was the guy who said I could get a stop from the bus before updating the game. I updated the game and I still can get the stops from a car/bus.

I think it is due to the fact that my device is beyond shitty, since it lacks GPS AND 3G it moves in jumps so the game considers the in between times of the jumps as still time so if I'm lucky to land near a stop in between jumps I get to spin the stop even if I'm on a car at 60km/h

I only got the message "try again" twice so far.

In gyms you can only tap, hold, swipe and then you can use recovery items between battles for prestige gain/loss.

When capturing, you can hold and release, curve, use berries, have to wait between attack or time the throw for jumps not to mention all the intricacies to aiming. Then there's IV/Moveset management which is RNG but an important part of everything else. You got incubators, the buddy system and while all of that shit leads to fighting eventually(though it's optional), saying gyms are 50% of the game is an over statement given you can perfectly play PoGo while ignoring them. I've been doing so for almost a month now.
