It takes 2 minutes and 45 seconds from soft reset until you can see your starter's gender.
It takes an additional 35 seconds (3:20 total) to check its nature and stats.
If you were planning on resetting for a good Trainer ID because you are autistic this is also the first time you can view it. ID is generated at startup of the game, so you will have to go through the entire first 15 minutes to check your ID.
