So we see its defensive and bulky which is never good on a grass type. HOWEVER there is evidence that it will experience a different stat distribution when it evolves.
1: Dartrix
Dartrix's Base HP is the same as Grotle's. Rowlet's is more like Tepig. Dartrix has less HP than Pignite, it won't be as bully as we thought, low end it could see 90.
2: Description
Shut up most of you agree A-Sandshrew will be slower than normal Sandshrew based on the description. Anyways, as you know, Decidueye is said to be fast and can wreck shit and what not so there's that.
3: The fact Decidueye is so skinny.
And the fact it's said to get flustered from a sneak attack. If you were a tank, you'd know you can tank a hit and deliver back but instead it runs.

Honestly Im optimistic. Its the first time that a second stage evolution(final stage as in decidueye) has changed so drastically from the first stage evolution in terms of body type. It goes from chubby and fluffy to skinny. Plus Decidueye's description, like you said, seems to not match a tank.
Im hoping for 80-90 speed at best. It wont be as fast as Delphox, but itll be deceny.

If its Atk is good enough, it can easily run Choice Scarf.
But I have an odd feeling this thing will get a HA that can help it, they wouldn't give it Spirit Shackle and not try to make something like a trapper that can mark a kill. They could either give it Stakeout or an entirely new ability.
I'm so eager for the leaks now cause I want to see what new abities they made for the starters.
