Shitpost on useless abilities and make them good. Op starts.
New effect: boost the accuracy of moves adding +30 acc
>>29703165
Early Bird: First move used after getting sent out gets +6 priority
>Magician
>Swaps items instead of stealing it
Levitate
It should just be a state instead of wasting a pokemon's ability on it and ruining its chance of ever getting a second and hidden ability. Fuck levitate
>>29703220
i couldn't agree more
>>29703165
>Illuminate
>Is like Brightpowder, can be stacked with Brightpowder
>>29703220
I don't get why only Bronzong is allowed to have Levitate and two other abilities.
>>29703165
Run Away: all those in-battle effects are actually able to be used in trainer battles (except running of course)
Illuminate: ????
>>29703202
>+6 priority
Post moar. i'm doing an pen and paper pokemon RPG, and the best ones are going to be in my game
>>29703165
There are like 8 moves in the game that don't reach perfect accuracy with a flat +30 boost and 4 of them are OHKOs and 3 of them are Hypnosis/Sing/Grasswhistle. The last is Supersonic iirc
>>29703220
>muh realism
fuck off
>>29703220
But it's not a useless ability it's one of the better ones
>>29703252
>Illuminate: ????
Intimidate for accuracy
>>29703220
Where did this Levitate is bad meme come from? Getting an immunity to an extremely common, powerful attacking type isn't a bad thing.
>>29703165
>Flower Gift
>1.5 boost in all 5 stats as opposed to just Atk. and SpDef.
>>29703256
I said make them good(pref. balanced) not necessarily competitive
>>29703273
Isn't, but on a RPG basis, could be a lot better and open to more options
>>29703255
You might want to look up PTU or PTA before you go making your own system.
Stall: Always move Last
Stall v2: Always move Last BUT moves will always apply their Secondary Effects
>>29703256
>Zap Cannon and Dynamic Punch
>>29703302
niiice
>>29703273
People who are fucking stupid think that beedrill and magnezone and shit should just have an immunity to ground for fucking free because they are bad and stupid
>>29703304
What pokemon can have one of these attacks and keen eye at the same time?
>>29703313
Are you a literal child?
>>29703321
Hitmonchan
>>29703313
>A flying bee and a floating magnet should be allowed to be hit by an earthquake
>>29703334
He would be a lot better, tho
>>29703336
Me on gen2 getting earthquake'd on magneton and finding out that he can be damaged by ground attacks, but doduo cant
>>29703165
Anticipation: Stops multi-hit moves
>>29703273
Then just change it so it's immunity to only some Ground-type moves (like Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude).
>>29703329
You might well be, for taking that at face value
>>29703336
>All fish pokemon should also be immune
There are reprecussions for such things.
>>29703336
if you want them to have levitate, then that's fine
if you want them to be immune to ground without having to forgo a different ability, a moveslot or their itemslot then you're retarded. Then you get stupid shit like "Vaporeon is made of water, so it should be immune to water on top of having an ability that differs from Water Absorb/Hydration" or "Slugma and Groudon control magma, so they should be immune to Fire!" or "Tyranitar and Nidoking have tough hides, so they should get the effects of Fur Coat or Bulletproof on top of their normal, amazing abilities!"
shut the fuck up and git gud, ground is the only type that you can be immune to from type, item, ability AND moves. fucking deal with it
>>29703384
The idea of the thread is to make good abilities, not balanced ones. If it makes sense on the real world, its cool.
I always though Water Veil should have reduced damage from Fire type moves along with the immunity to the Burn status.
>Comatose
This pokemon automatically falls asleep at the start of the turn if it isn't already asleep
>Unnerve
The opposing pokemon can't use it's item, but it can't be knocked off by the unnervist
>>29703415
On my RPG, it has.
Im thinking of posting all the abilities that i've changed so /vp can rate them
>>29703273
The issue isn't so much Levitate by itself as it is the fact that besides Bronzong, nothing with it can get a different ability.
>>29703444
It just hit me that all of them are in PT-BR and probably very few of you can read it
>>29703302
There is no reason for that to ever happen. It is the stupidest bullshit. Stall is a perfectly fine and powerful ability already.
>>29703440
>The opposing pokemon can't use it's item
Oh yes, because that's a wonderful idea that won't be worse than this rubbish Knock Off meta.
>>29703683
>Stall is a good ability
HOW
How about a nerf?
>Protean now activates after you use a move, so the only way to get STAB is to use the same move again.Or you could use a different move of the same type, but having two moves of the same type means you obviously don't know how to Protean correctly
>>29703718
They must've mistaken it with Prankster seeing how the only the only pokemon to get it is Sableye.
>>29703718
You fucking retarded degenerate, let me lay it out for your simple mind. Stall has MANY uses. Lets you avoid Priority moves for example. You can also Skill Swap and it makes Analytic and Payback exceptionally good. Plus making you slow makes Gyro Ball and Trick Room OP as heck with it. Now that class is over go back to mommy so she can teach you how to play farmville so that your low mental capacity can at least be used for something while they wait to take you off life support.
>>29703304
>Inferno
>>29703787
>Sableye is the only one with it
>Doesn't learn skill swap, cant have analytic with it, doesnt learn gyro ball and pretty sure that trick room too
>>29703273
It's nice to be able to switch into EQ, but a lot of Pokemon who aren't weak to ground don't get enough use out of it to justify it taking up all three of their ability slots. The few who outright resist ground are just plain fucked over by it.
>>29703787
>Going last lets you 'avoid' things
>Stall + Analytic
>Stall modifying Gyro Ball or Trick Room at all
>>29703824
You don't play doubles do you? LOL. Stall helps ally Analytic and you can Skill Swap with partners.
Honey Gather: 20% chance to replenish health via Honey after every turn, even if it's not the Pokémon's held item.
>>29703787
Stall doesn't affect speed at all, it just means you go last. That means you're still going last even in Trick Room.
>>29703861
This post reeks of reddit, kill yourself.
>>29703896
That's bullcrap. I've ALWAYS gone first with Stall while in Trick Room.
I'm going to boot up my game and send you a video you freaking cunt.
>>29703683
>>29703787
>>29703861
>>29703917
>>29703888
I'd just change honey to work like Mummy and replace the opponent's item with Honey when they hit the Pokemon with a physical attack, then let Honey Gather replenish it like Harvest.
>>29703917
>>29703896
So turns out you were right and I was wrong. My bad. I guess I need to actually pay more attention to that ability instead of just thinking I know what it does.
Light Metal: Pokemon's weight is halved
Light Metal 2.0: Speed is doubled (huge power but for speed) and weight is halved.
>>29704059
Heavy Metal: Pokemon's weight is doubled
Heavy Metal 2.0: Whirlwind, Roar, Sky Drop, Seismic Toss and moves like that won't affect the Pokémon (too heavy)

Just put it on a bulky rest talker and it would be pretty good.
>>29703165
>Damp
>The effects of Water Sport are active while this Pokemon is on the field.
>>29704096
I mean, then there would be a reason to run not mega metagross.
Aftermath: Opponent loses 1/4 HP if they kill this mon with a contact move.
Aftermath 2.0: Same if killed with a contact move, non-contact moves make them lose 1/8 HP (they are 'farther from the blast'). As is, it's not that great and no really good mon exists that could abuse it.
Keen Eye: Prevents loss of accuracy.
Keen Eye 2.0: Prevents loss of accuracy and disregards opposing Pokemon's evasion boosts.
Other Keen Eye idea: Prevents loss of accuracy + 10% accuracy boost.
Blaze, Torrent, Overgrow, Swarm: Boosts (type) attack in a pinch.
2.0: Boosts type attack by 50% in a pinch, 10% when not at that health threshold.
Forecast: Also make it work for sandstorm.
>>29704349
thats pretty cool
>>29704246
Damp never made much sense for me.
How would wet pokemon prevent exploding yet not using fire attacks?
>>29704470
Because retarded people on pokemon company
>>29704470
Maybe it was meant to balance moves seen as cheap. Too bad they aren't common enough to justify the ability.
Sand Force: boosts rock, steel, and ground attacks during sandstorm.
Sand Force 2.0: Boosts all physical attacks during sandstorm.
Big Pecks 2.0: Defense cannot be lowered, boosts defence by 1 stage.
Healer: 30% chance of healing ally status condition
Healer 2.0: At end of turn, 30% chance of healing any single party pokemon's status condition.
>>29704584
Honey gather: mon might find honey at the end of battle.
2.0: Pokemon might find honey during battle and consume it to heal HP.
Hustle: 50% boost to physical attacks for 80% the accuracy
2.0: works for special attacks as well (I mean, you lose the accuracy either way, so without this, special mons really don't want it).
Illuminate: No in battle effect.
2.0: Boost accuracy, sees through illusion.
Inner focus: prevents flinching, but not w/ focus punch.
2.0: not flinching on focus punch. (maaaaybe OP).
Magic bounce because only frail shitmons have it.
>>29704647
Magma armor: mon cannot be frozen
2.0: Also reduces damage from ice attacks.
Soundproof 2,0: Also blocks taunt.
Sticky hold: item cannot be taken.
2.0: After getting hit by a contact move, the opposing pokemon cannot switch out for 1 turn.
>>29704665
> only frail shit mons have magic bounce
> what are Mega Sableye, Mega Diancie
> implying Espeon is shit
I think more mons need it, but it is definitely a really strong ability. Honestly, I like that it can deter hazard use in a meta that forces so much hazard use, but hazards need other forms of nerfing. Preferably more ways to clear them.
>>29704349
Yup
>>29704034
Of course you fucking piece of shit cunt. Now go and watch ashnime like the retard you are
>>29703165
Compoundeyes already exists. Your idea is bad.
Keen Eye should be a Speed Boost but with accuracy. That way it doesn't have an immediate bonus, like compoundeyes, but it accumulates.
Slow Start now increases defense and special defense by 30% during the initial 5 turns. The counter also does not reset when switched out.
>>29703336
Yes pokemon is renowned for its realistic battles. All the other moves make perfect sense and only levitating pokemon are in a weird spot. You dumb shit
If we retconned every battle mechanic to be "realistic" we'd have to change half of the metagame
>>29703252
you can leave the battle without recieving a game loss. opop
r8 h8
Truant: Can use status moves in the off turn.
Defeatist: When it triggers, everything on the field gets defeatist as their ability. Pessimism is contagious after all.
Slow start: Starts at -2 attack and speed, but gains +1 attack and speed at the end of each turn.
Run Away: Switches out if it makes contact with the opponent.
Color Change: Changes type BEFORE the move hits, effectively giving a resist to ice, electric and whatever else resists itself. As well as an immunity to tox, twave and wisp.
Anger Point: Maximises speed also.
Anticipation: Switches out if it detects a strong move.
Flower Gift: Doubles defences of cherrim in the sun and makes it immune to fire, as well as previous effects.
Forecast: Changes weather on switching in depending on weather rock held.
Gluttony: Eats the berry immediately.
Leaf Guard: Resistance to fire as well as previous effects.
Own Tempo: Speed can't be lowered in addition to previous effect. It just makes sense.
Pickup: Immediately picks up any knocked off or flung item.
Quick Feet: Immune to the 25% chance of full para as well as previous effects.
Rivalry: Traps pokemon of the same gender.
Steadfast: Does not flinch that turn and deals double damage on that turn.
Tangled Feet: Will not hurt itself in confusion also.
White Smoke: Stats can not be lowered ever, not even by self affliction.
Wonder Guard: Immune to passive damage as well.
Zen Mode: Quarters damage taken when active.
Plus/Minus, Friend Guard, Aroma Veil, Sweet Veil, Victory Star and other ally buffing abilities: Take effect when in party, don't have to be on the field to get the effects.
>>29704276
Aftermath 3.0: The mon just uses explosion straight the fuck up when it faints.
>>29704349
>Prevents loss of accuracy and disregards opposing Pokemon's evasion boostsit already does this
>>29704647
>not flinching on focus punch. (maaaaybe OP).
It still goes last, so its fine.
>>29705627
love the buff to color change, truant and slow start
>buffing wonder guard
fucking dropped
>>29705627
Honestly the only "buff" Wonder Guard needs is to be on any other Pokemon than Shedinja, it doesn't need anything else. Besides that the rest of the list is good.
>>29703281
But it's not balanced, it's completly broken.

Switch your toxic orb with their pecha berry. You heal and they get poisoned. literally the only thing I can think of.

A lot of these are good, but the Truant change seems too much.
