The main selling point of Stadium/PBR was that you got to see Pokemon in 3D. As such, they exaggerated all the animations to make pokemon stand out and create a more cinematic battle.

3DS animations are short and sweet to not drag on battles, as you will literally fight the same pokemon over and over through stretches of the game. PBR/Stadium styled animations would slowdown game speed by like, 40-60%.

I'm surprised, with such short animation, they managed to preserve the personalities of some Pokemon, like Sableye in OP's gif.

Not enough when you can't do much direct damage and aren't tanky and the only way to be fast is to use status moves. In the mega form at least it has another awesome ability plus enough bulk to withstand attacks.
