>Lycanroc doesn't look anything like a Rock type!
They at least look like they'd be hard, sturdy, and a thick hide. Lycanroc looks soft.
>Because all Rock types need to look like walking rock lizards or pieces of stones mashed together
>>29694648
It has fur so yeah it'll look soft. Doesn't change the fact that there's blatantly hard stones all throughout the design.

I can see the Rock type in Tyranitar actually, it could very easily be a fossilmon
However, what isn't obvious with Tyranitar is the Dark type.

>black spots

Aaron, Lairon and Aggron have those too
>>29694617
Tyranitar has a hide made of rocks.
Aggron you have kind of point, but based on the Mega being pure Steel I think its underbelly is supposed to be impure iron ore mixed with rocks.
Tyrantrum is a fossilmon. Rule established on day 1.
Lycanroc looks like it's a dual type with Rock as its secondary typing, imo it looks more like a Normal/Rock. I am glad they didn't give it that typing though
Tyranitar looks rocky because of the way its body is formed and it clearly has holes on it. Same with Aggron.
Fossil pokemon = revived from rock = rock type.
Lycanroc (especially the midnight version) looks NOTHING like a rock-type and if no one told you beforehand there's no fucking way you would guess it's rock and you would just assume it's dark.
>>29694617
It's not so much that Lycanroc don't look Rock-type, it's that they don't look pure Rock-type (like all 3 of your examples).
>Rockruff and Midday could easily be Rock/Normal
They have the same basic design principles as the half-normies: elemental aspect that doesn't take up the whole body (Litleo's red mane, Heliolisk's frills, Girafarig's ass, Diggersby's ears, Sawsbuck's plants growing on its antlers), my mom's animal (all the Normal/Flying birds and Bibarel), and fluffiness (Bewear, Drampa, Pyroar).
>both Lycanroc forms could pass as Rock/Fighting
Midnight is a biped that likes to fight and gets a Fighting-type move as its """signature.""" Midday is proud of its power and Gen 5 and Stuffal set the precedent that quadrupeds qualify for Fighting.
>Midnight could pass for Rock/Dark, Rock/Fairy, or Rock/Ghost
Rock/Dark goes without say, though it would probably be a shitty typing for its intended playstyle. Rock/Fairy makes sense because moon powers and fairytale creatures like the Big Bad Wolf. Rock/Ghost fits with the expansion of Ghost-types including spooky eyed channellers/shadow users, plus Lunala being Psychic/Ghost.
>Can't see Rock type in Tyranitar
Are you retarded?
>Can't see Rock type on Aggron
I can see it being pure steel.
>Can't see Rock type on Tyrantrum
Fossil mon so Rock type is a given. The yellow parts are also a good indication.

Those are holes
Cutest rock types aside from shuckle desu
