Now, it really isn't if you're playing it casually like I always have, but I've just started checking things like breeding and other stuff, and it feels like so much information. It's overwhelming.
Like I look at that stuff, and I might want to try to have a better team, but then don't know if I wanna go through the trouble.
Good one
Don't worry, SM streamlined the system. You don't really need to breed anymore.

You don't have to be a minmaxing faggot you know.
>>29692729
Pokemon was always like that when it came to competitive
>>29692729
I bet you're a geewunning casual
This pasta is boring.
>>29692729
This is neogaf
>>29692729
Yea because comparing actual competitive vs genwunning casual is a good comparison
Gen 1 has actually a solid OU metagame and it isn't EQ to everything, is more like twave, ice beam, body slam, and hyper beam, but still
>>29692729
all pokemon stats in the game should be hidden and unchangeable
lets see how good you are now without your autism math skills
It's easy, OP.
First you get a pokemon and raise the desired stat's EV trought battling or super training or vitamins. Then you breed that pokemon with whatever until you get the same mon with a positive nature and good IVs. I don't think 6 perfect IVs are really necessary but i'm a casual so what do i know.
Then you train the EVs again and there you go, assuming you got all the Ability, TMs, Tutor- and Eggmoves you wanted you're basicly done.R-right?
>>29692729
2nd one still works best
>>29692790
>>29692818
well that's funny I mean...
>>29692729
If you really think Pokemon of all things is too complicated, maybe you should stay away from RPGs in general.
>>29692962
Why the fuck would you ev train a breeding parent? lol
But yeah, other than the fine details like passing down IVs with held items and switching parents intelligently.
>>29692780
All games are like that when you get to the more advanced parts.
Pokemon, Mario 64, etc are all games that seem simple, but you can get very technical about. If it's too much for you, just don't play it like that
>>29692729
Gen 6 is literally theeasiestgen to breed/train perfect pokemon. If you can't do it in gen 6 you're just not fit to be anything more than a casual in the first place. Try EV training in gen 3 with no power items or pokerus. Sure pokerus existed but pre-wifi trading it was ultra rare.genuinely am not trying to start difficulty flame war

Nice meme
>>29692939
We have save editors and other external tools that let us view invisible stats. That will disadvantage those who don't into that stuff even more, not disadvantage the autists
>>29692729
I know what you mean OP I was into breed and EV training back in 2011in gen 4 when I came back for hg/ss,learned to breed and EV train and everything but when it got down to it it wasn't fun, just another layer of bullshit complexity used to extend a games playtime while I found myself pimping my pokemon instead of using them for actual fighting. After about maybe 200hours of it I said fuck this and got a action replay an used pokesav to make my teams an actal play and experiment with teams since the build time wasn't there anymore andI had more fun making pokes this way.
Kinda miss the simpler days of gold/ silver and crystal.
>>29692729
Please stop. You and the "too many Pokemon" faggots are ruining Pokemon.
>>29692729
atually it's more like
"ok give it a good nature, give it not shit stats, swords dance, win"
unless you play stall then you should actually die.
>>29692729
Just play the game like you want to
>>29692729
it's all good as long as the franchise doesn't turn into whatever the fuck Yugioh is nowadays.

>"EV train my tank in special sweeper"
>Beating Machops to EV train for Sp. Atk
>Needing to breed over 700 times for a non-shiny pokemon
