Abra and Ghastly lines were my favorite but as a kid I thought they ended at Kadabra and Haunter, which are today two of my absolute favorite pokemon.

Marowak is my favorite from gen 1 and he looks like shit, too.
I have mixed feelings about Alolan marowak. I like the original more, but A-Marowak in-game looks a lot better than the XY animation for vanilla marowak.
