Amazon usually gets me games the night before release because I live extremely close to a distribution center. So of they ship it on the 16th like they say they are I should have it by 6 pm on the 17th.

This will be my first time Pre-ordering and receiving hard copies from an online retailer. I'm somewhat nervous they're going to fuck up. At least when I preordered in stores, I was there to get the copy. I'm relying on Amazon and USPS/UPS/Fedex to get my games here... and even if it is THE day of, I won't be getting until 4:00 pm due to their routing.

Based on what he told me on how things work, if you payed for priority shipping, they would ship it the day before out of Tampa (17th) and you will get it 18th, not a day sooner.

If you payed for regular/free shipping, then distance plays a factor, but since it's a nearby city, you will likely get it the next (most likely) or 2nd business day depending on delivery traffic in your area (probably 19th though)

I can't tell you what happens in Canada, but for me in the US, I get anything I preorder the day it comes out. I'm a Prime member and go with the default free 2 day shipping. They ship preorders out one or two days before release date and it comes on the release date.

I don't know how it works if you don't have Amazon Prime. I imagine you have to pay extra to get it to you on release day.

I live in Puerto Rico. Amazons page say it "ships on the 18th" and it takes five working days to get to me. so I would get it on the 25th, which is bullshit so I am driving to the nearest wall mart, 1 hour drive, and buying it on the 18th.
