In older art, peaking in Gen 3, he had a more intimidating look to him.
But Nidoking's the kind of typical "cool big brute" Pokemon; the same kind of typical appeal you see in Charizard. But it's always been such a massive thing for the power jump of being able to get it before even Misty (though that's detrimental) and a massive movepool it had the stats to back up. Sheer Force Life Orb Nidoking was a fangasm blessing back in Gen 5. It's just a cool looking monster that could be monstrously good.

Both of its weaknesses are quadrupal ones, not to mention of types commonly seen in both the normal game and competitive play, it looks fucking stupid (can't pinpoint what, though) and fragile, and Shadow Shield is only going to be worth it if it can tank like Dragonite and Lugia can, and would've worked much better if it was Fairy/Ghost.

It's a giant ambiguously amphibious fish that can slap the race of someone and knock peoples lights out who turns into a goofy old style cartoon body builder when mega evolved, also is extremely bulky with an immunity from a fast and hard hitting type and in general, is extremely good competitively
The only real flaws it has is that current art makes it look like shit (I.e. (you)r pic OP) and that it can die to a doofy fucking radish, which, unless you're blind, you can see coming a mile away

At least it's my philosophy. I understand that one could want to fill a niche by creating something that particularly adresses what he considers a need in the metagame, but I know I wouldn't do that if I had any say in the games.

Nigga these are some of the best starters. Decidueye may be a bit overrated but it's still pretty high up compared to the other grass starters. Incineroar has the most personality of the three. And I think Primarina is much prettier than Milotic, who was mentioned above.

Blaziken's hair is awkward and stiff and weighs it down together with its weighty bottom half, when it's supposed to be fast. Its little spike flames aren't flame-like either and its colors are dull.

Mega's upturned hair and vest gives it a better weight balance against its hips and bell bottoms, the flame ribbons make it look more dynamic and also evoke muay thai bands. The comb makes a lot more sense for a fighting rooster than a random V crest. The black offsets its other colors better

I've never liked Blaziken. To me it always felt like it looked like a weird man thing rather than a chicken. While you could argue the same for Emboar and Incineroar, I feel these two just work better overall and have slightly more "beast" elements I guess. I'm not good at explaining it.
